IPFN — the protocol, plainly

Learn.

Ten minutes to fluency — images, books, and the chain that holds them.

Concept 01

What is an IPFN?

A public, content-addressed name for a creative work — recorded once, checkable by anyone, on an openly anchored record.

Concept 02

FileChain, explained.

One committed volume per day, each carrying the last one's anchor — a ledger that notarizes itself on Base.

VOL n−2VOL n−1TODAYAnchored to Base

Each day's volume is hashed (canonical JSON, SHA-256) and that hash is committed to Base mainnet. Change anything in an old volume and the chain says so.

The ISBN identifies the edition in the book trade; the IPFN certifies the work itself. A registered book carries both — the ISBN on its barcode, the IPFN in its record — so any copy, print or digital, resolves back to its author.
